Enhanced Mobility from Tilt Rotors: The Marine Corps and Army are looking at the utility of a 4 engine tilt rotor plane, essentially a C-130 with vertical landing capabilities. The Navy is also interested in a large plane for carrying supplies between ships at sea. Gen James Jones, commandant of the Marine Corp, believes that tilt rotor technology will be revolutionary.
