After months of wheeling, dealing, and debate, the Air Force has signed the contract to get another sixty C-17 jet transports from Boeing, which would push its inventory to 180. As airlift is always a critical shortage in any conflict scenario, the Air Force is already setting the table for a battle to get another 42 of the huge airlifters added to the end of this new contract.--Stephen V Cole
