: The artillery branch leaders are studying several new weapons that could be deployed by tube artillery:

@ Malodorants: chemical warfare shells that do not cause death or injury, but make an area so noxious that the enemy will get up and leave.

@ Stun rounds that disorient the enemy without causing permanent damage.

@ Anti-vehicle rounds that disable a vehicle without injuring the passengers or crew.

@ Illumination rounds that produce light in wavelengths the human eye cannot see, but which US night vision equipment could use to spot the enemy.

@ Shells that can be steered on command to strike precise targets.--Stephen V Cole
