Northrop Grumman won the Australian competition for new Airborne Early Warning planes (bidding its radar on a Boeing 737 airframe) over the competition (an Israeli Phalcon radar on an A310 airframe). Competition has now moved to Turkey. If Northrop Grumman wins there, it plans to take on the Israelis on their home turf in the Israeli AEW competition. --Stephen V Cole
