The National Missile Defense program has launched two Minuteman missiles from Vandenberg AFB toward the Pacific Test Range. The first carried 20 objects to help the NMD system refine its tracking hardware and software to discriminate between decoys and a real warhead. The second carried a new dummy warhead (built by NASA) to test the flight profile that will be used for the next live interceptor test. Both tests were considered to have met their goals and objectives.--Stephen V Cole
