The Pakistani government has set up a cyberwarfare unit. The main reason for this is the skill of American cyberwarriors displayed as they helped catch al Qaeda members via monitoring their Internet use in Pakistan. The Americans had to do all the Internet work, because the Pakistanis were not organized to do so. But the Pakistanis, of all the Moslem nations, have the largest number of skilled programmers and Internet engineers. Realizing this, the government organized the special unit. The official announcement said, "The National Response Center for Cyber Crimes will play a key role in the days to come in tracing those terrorists who often use the Internet or prepaid telephone cards to communicate messages to their associates for carrying out acts of terrorism and other purposes," Apparently the FBI and CIA will offer technical assistance and advice on how to set up the new Pakistani organization.
