: The 380 Danish troops stationed in Qurna, Iraq (75 kilometers from Basra) recently received a shipment of supplies that included a snowplow, snow shovels, road salt and lawnmowers. Think about that - a snowplow in the desert.

Considering what the Danes have suffered through to date, it's a wonder they haven't gone on a rampage: too few armored vehicles (and those they had, lacked appropriate air conditioning) and some of the vehicles they did get were in such poor condition that they were supposed to be scrapped. They are also lacking more mundane supplies, like tent stakes, morphine and protective vests that fit. 

On June 12th, British forces handed over control of Qurna to the Danes. The town is on that fertile piece of land where the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers meet, rumored to be the site of the biblical garden of Eden. - Adam Geibel
