The British Royal Navy reports that the delay in selecting the winner of the Joint Strike Fighter competition will not delay the service dates of their two new carriers (projected as 2012 and 2015). The decision on which JSF will be used affects the design of the carrier, but the design is proceeding on a two-track basis for the next year so that either aircraft type (vertical take off or conventional) could be used.--Stephen V Cole
