Marine Commandant James Jones says that the Marines will reorganize their ten carrier-based strike squadrons to ensure that they are interchangeable with Navy squadrons. The eight Harrier squadrons (each 24 aircraft) will be reorganized into F-35 Joint Strike Fighter squadrons, each with 20 aircraft. The Marines insist on having their own airborne jammer planes, and want an electronic warfare version of the F-35, but will use EF-18G Growlers for a few years if the EA-6Bs wear out.--Stephen V Cole
