ARMS DEALS

@ Japan will buy 16 more SM-2 anti-aircraft missiles from the US for $27 million for use by its Navy.

@ Lithuania has ratified its military cooperation pact with Poland; the Poles have given Lithuania trainloads of leftover Cold War military equipment.

@ China has offered to pay 80% of the cost of building a new ammunition factory in Georgia (the one in the Caucasus) for a share of the profits from export sales.

@ Russia has offered to give Indonesia Su-30 fighters in exchange for licenses to operate mineral mining operations in that country.--Stephen V Cole
