Currently undergoing field testing, a new shoot around corners sight will be shipped to Iraq later this year. The Parascope Urban Combat Sight allows troops to fire around a corner, or over a barrier. The soldier does expose their hands and arms to do this, but the head and body remain behind cover. The sight is entirely optical, so there are no electronics or batteries to worry about. Troops who have tested the device report that accuracy is very good, and the use of the new sight would make urban combat faster, and safer. The Parascope mounts on the standard rail found on most U.S. rifles.
