U.S. Navy Sailors from Electronic Warfare Squadron (VAQ) 136 perform maintenance on an EA-6B Prowler on the flight deck of USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) on June 27, 2005. The EA-6B is a twin-engine aircraft used to provide umbrella protection for strike aircraft by jamming enemy radar, electronic data links and communications. Kitty Hawk, the first of the modern "super carriers," is currently operating in the Coral Sea off the coast of Australia's Queensland region as part of Exercise Talisman Saber 2005. A combined U.S.-Australia command post and field training exercise, Talisman Saber demonstrates the U.S. and Australian commitment to the military alliance and regional security.
