WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (May 28, 2017) An MH-60S Sea Hawk, assigned to the "Golden Falcons" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 12, practices evasive maneuvers and dispenses MJU-32 flares to simulate combating a guided missile threat. The MH-60S Sea Hawk is used for anti-surface warfare, naval special warfare support, special operations support, combat search and rescue, logistics, drug interdiction, anti-piracy operations, humanitarian relief operations, and airborne mine countermeasures. HSC-12 is embarked aboard the Navy's forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
