The GSPC, the major Islamic terrorist group, has admitted, via their web site, that their leader,  Nabil Sahraoui (also known as Mustapha Abou Ibrahim) is "missing," along with several other key aides. The government claimed to have killed Sahraoui on June 20th, along with three of his subordinate leaders. GSPC has been very quiet of late, and police believe that few of the Islamic terrorists, the last organized group in the country, are still loose. The population has turned against the Islamic radical GSPC, and provide the police with information. This makes it difficult for the GSPC to maintain themselves, as police and army patrols quickly come after them whenever they show up in an inhabited area looking for food or other supplies.

This won't be the end of terrorism, however, because there is still widespread dislike for the corruption and inefficiency in the government.
