On March 27, Macedonian sources reported Macedonian units fought with the NLA near the village of Gracani (north of Skopje, on the Kosovo border). On March 28, Macedonian Army troops and a special police unit launched an attack in the Black Mountains north of Skopje. One press report said a Macedonian Army unit composed of 250 men and three tanks occupied a position near the village of Lipkovo. Special police, supported by army units, moved into the villages of Brest, Malino Malo and Gosince. On March 29 more fighting occurred near the village of Gracani.
