: Serbian security forces, using tanks and infantry, pushed UCPMB Albanian guerrillas out of the southern village of Oraovica. A Serb officer on the scene said the UCPMB rebels retreated into the Ground Safety Zone (GSZ). The report implied the rebels retreated to the Kosovo side of the GSZ. A subsequent report said the Serbs used a house to house: technique to clear Oraovica. This was done to avoid using heavy artillery. Western journalists had reported that the UCPMB once had up to 250 guerrillas in Oraovica. Serb sources claimed 14 UCPMB guerrillas were killed and eight wounded in the operation inside and around Oraovica.
