A former Serb government minister tried to commit suicide in front of the Serb parliament building in Belgrade. Vlajko Stojiljkovic faced extradition to the Hague for war crimes committed in Kosovo. In a suicide note, Stojiljkovic accused the Serb parliament and the Kostunica government of passing war crimes legislation that was a treasons against Serbs. Several street demonstrations against the war crimes bill have taken place in Belgrade over the last few weeks. The Serb parliament only approved the war crimes law after the US and EU blocked international aid and loans.
