Although most drugs coming out of Afghanistan just pass through the Central Asian nations, an increasing amount of the stuff is being used by local addicts. In Kazakhstan it's estimated that there are 12 addicts per thousand population. In Kyrgyzstan, it's thought to be 20 per thousand. In Tajikistan it's estimated as six per thousand and in Uzbekistan about four per thousand.
