China and India have agreed to work together against terrorism (as well as a lot of technical and economic projects). The two countries have border disputes that led to a minor war in the 1960s. Over the years, discussions on the border issues have become more frequent. India wants to get close to China to gain some leverage with Pakistan's most powerful ally. Indian leaders have pointed out that Indian nuclear weapons exist mainly for protection from China's nukes.
