China has begun a six month series of military exercises on the coastal region facing Taiwan. Over 100,000 troops (from all services) will participate. China has been slowly increasing the money provided for such training exercises. Chinese troops have long suffered from low spending on training. It's not the new weapons that will make the Chinese more formidable, but the greater spending on training and becoming expert at using their weapons and equipment.
