Right wing paramilitaries killed some 30 people in the northwest, accusing them of supporting narco-terrorists. 

September 1; FARC  attacked a police station, 300 kilometers northwest of the capital, over two days and were repulsed by army troops. FARC lost at least 47 dead and many wounded. The police and army had four wounded. Two of the dead FARC fighters were those accused of killing three American activists last February.
