A legislator, Diego Turbay, was killed by gunmen, along with his mother and three bodyguards. The incident took place 670 kilometers south of the capital. Turbay was active in acting as a mediator with the government and rebels in trying to work out a peace deal. If the killers turn out to be FARC members, the peace talks could be seriously impeded.
