Troops tracked down and attacked ELNkidnappers who had taken a 14 year old boy for ransom. Two rebels were killed during the operation, and two were arrested. The boy was unharmed. The ELN denounced the kidnappers as rogue element. It becoming more common for rebels to get greedy and do a little freelance kidnapping. The ELN is trying to negotiate a peace deal with the government, and incidents like this don't help.
