In an increasingly common incident, five FARC kidnappers were killed by special team of anti-terrorist troops in southwestern Colombia. FARCs kidnapping tactics are well known, and the special anti-terrorist troops are staking out areas where the kidnappers are likely to try to grab someone. Kidnapping is the one crime that terrifies most Colombians. For years, Colombia has had the most kidnappings per capital of any country in the world. Most of the kidnappings are carried out by leftist rebels.
