India has sent more troops to the Bangladesh border. The cause of the recent violence cam be traced back to vague borders established when Britain granted India and Pakistan independence in 1947. Basically, many parts of the border were essentially undefined, particularly in remote areas. But now those regions are populated and the locals get into heated disputes with border guards about which country they are in. The tensions have been growing for years.
