Pakistan sentenced an Islamic cleric, and 30 of his followers, to prison for leading Taliban volunteers into Afghanistan. In Kashmir, Indian troops killed a dozen rebels trying to cross from Pakistan. Food aid is again crossing from Pakistan into Afghanistan, although bandits are again robbing truck drivers along the way. In Kashmir, Pakistani and Indian troops exchanged fire across the Line of Control, leaving a Pakistani civilian dead and many more wounded. India says it has crippled a major Kashmir rebel group, Al Badar, in the last three days.
