Violence has broken out in the Indian province of Gujarat, where Hindu nationalists have killed over a thousand Moslems in the past year. The province has a population of 50 million, of which 89 percent are Hindu and ten percent Moslem. In this weeks elections, Hindu nationalists won control of the province. National police have been in the province to deal with the Hindu violence.

Several clashes in Kashmir left three dead.
