Two Indian officers were court martialled for allowing a tank regiments laptop computer, containing secret plans for war with Pakistan, to be sent to a civilian technician for repairs. The technician replaced the unreliable hard drive, but sent the defective hard drive to a local university, where students tinkered with it and got it working again. The students then found the military secrets, and reported their find to the military.
