Indian and Pakistani border guard officers are now working out the details of the new ceasefire. Because of the diplomatic tensions of the last few years, the border guards of both nations had become quite hostile with each other. This often lead to shooting back and forth, and casualties. The degree of violence varied, being most intense in Kashmir. But the border guards seem eager to get back to the 90s, when attitudes along the border were generally peaceful and cooperative.
