Pakistani troops surrounding over a hundred al Qaeda troops near the Afghanistan border have brought in artillery and helicopter gunships. The trapped militants have been told to surrender or die. Some locals have said that al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri is not in the compound, but many armed foreigners (mainly Arabs) are. There are reports that bin Laden and al-Zawahiri have fled to Islamic radical camps in Pakistani Kashmir.
