 A bomb cut a large gas pipeline in eastern Pakistan, while two bombs in the south cut a rail line. In the southwest, Baluchi tribal gunmen attacked soldiers in two incidents, killing five and wounding ten. The government is dealing with violence from tribal  groups that don't want the government to interfere with their (often illegal) affairs, and with Islamic conservatives who want to establish a religious dictatorship.
