India has built 580 kilometers of electrified fence along the Line of Control (border between Indian and Pakistani Kashmir). It has been so effective that the Islamic radicals training in Pakistani camps have built facsimiles of the fence in order to train their people on how best to get across it. This must be done quickly, because attempts to cross the fence usually alert nearby Indian troops, who come quickly to battle the line crossers.
