Indian police that they have traced the source of the many Chinese 9mm and 7.62mm pistols local criminals are using. Terrorist organizations are using their smuggling operations to make extra money by gunrunning for criminal gangs. Islamic terrorists in Pakistan (operating in Kashmir), Maoists in Nepal and Tamils in Sri Lanka have all been found to be supplying weapons to criminal gangs. The Islamic and Maoist groups are moving the cheap Chinese pistols, while the Tamils supply bomb making equipment and expertise. Criminal gangs often use bombs to back up their extortion rackets.  The terrorist organizations have a natural affinity with the gangs, as both are outlaws and must operate in spite of police efforts to shut them down.
