 The navy sank four Filipino fishing boats that were illegally fishing and tried to flee. The navy arrested 49 Filipino fishermen and brought them back to an Indonesian port. In the past week, the navy has sunk or seized a dozen foreign fishing boats. For the last few years, such illegal fishing had been tolerated, but so many foreign boats were now poaching local fish that Indonesian fishermen were being crowded out.
