U.S. and British warplanes bombed Iraqi aid defense sites in southern Iraq after the Iraqis fired on the coalition aircraft. 

The US increased it's psychological warfare operations in southern Iraq, dropping millions of leaflets and broadcasting more radio programs to Iraqi troops. The messages warn the Iraqi soldiers not to fight for Saddam, but to cooperate in the forming of a new, democratic, government.
