British and US warplanes bombed Iraqi air defense targets in the southern no-fly zone. This included attacks on the fiber optic communications system. 

The first of 14 B-52 bombers arrived in Britain, for use against Iraqi targets.

Iraq destroyed six more banned Al Samud 2 missiles, for a total of 16.
