Attacks continue on oil pipelines and electrical transmission lines. The attacks are not serious, as the oil is moved over multiple pipelines, and the long distance electrical transmission lines are not used that. Each region of Iraq is now developing its own power sources, and uses power mostly from local plants. The previous government had allowed the electrical power system to deteriorate over the last twenty years, except in pro-Saddam areas like Baghdad and Tikrit.

In a raid on a refugee camp outside the northern city of Kirkuk, American troops seized 745 rocket-propelled grenades, nearly 4,000 rounds of rifle and pistol ammunition, 41 hand grenades and 11 portable anti-aircraft missiles.
