US commanders have noted that different American brigades and battalions have gotten different results against Iraqi resistance in Sunni Arab areas. The different tactics being used by these units are being studied to see which new tactics can be adopted by all units. Sometimes, however, success is mainly due to local conditions (like a Sunni leader who decides that supporting the Baath Party is not such a good idea after all.)
