American forces arrested the wife and daughter of Saddam henchman Izzat Ibrahim al-Dour, who is believed to be leading part of the pro-Saddam resistance. It's a common custom in the Moslem world to seize family members in order to get another member of the family to surrender to police.

Increasingly, American raids are accompanied by a force of Iraqi police, who act as translators and for dealing with civilians not involved with the raid.
