A large remote controlled mine (placed in a culvert under a road), destroyed a Bradley armored vehicle and killed three American and two Iraqi troops. The troops were out looking for such mines, and shortly after the explosion, several Iraqis were stopped and found to have bomb making material in their truck. A dozen or more of these bombs are planted each day, but nearly all of them are detected and disposed of.
