September 8; After several incidents in which Israeli units in Lebanon fired on each other, the Israeli Army has decided to give all troops deploying to the Security Zone a special training program. This is to emphasize armor-infantry cooperation in a counter-guerrilla environment.--Stephen V Cole

Two members of the Israeli controlled South Lebanese army were wounded by a remote controled bomb.

September 7; Israeli warplanes fired several missiles at a Hezbollah base in Lebanon, some 180 kilometers north of Israel. The attack was apparently in retaliation for Hezbollah operations several days earlier.

September 5; Two car bombs went off in northern Israel. Three people, all Israeli Arabs, were killed. Apparently the three were moving the bombs to their targets when they went off accidentally. It is unusual for Israeli Arabs to be involved in terrorism. This incident caused unease among both Jewish and Arab Israelis.
