Palestinians continue to fire Qassam rockets from Gaza into southern Israeli. The rockets, which are unguided, are built in hidden workshops inside Gaza. Israeli raids have closed many of these workshops, and tried to shut down the smuggling operations that bring in the materials the rockets are made from. It is feared that if the Qassam design and manufacturing quality is improved enough, the rocket could regularly hit populated areas in southern Israel.
