Despite the ceasefire, Israel continues to hunt for terrorists. Muhammad Abu Khazneh, a member of terrorist group Islamic Jihad was killed. He had been part of the team that carried out the the Feb. 25 suicide bombing that killed five Israelis at a Tel Aviv.

In Lebanon, the pro-Syrian politicians gave got their people appointed to run a new government, taking encouragement from a large, pro-Syria, demonstration in the capital. But the anti-Syria groups promise an even larger demonstration. The pro-Syrian government had resigned last month in response to the Iraqi elections, and popular support for democracy throughout the Middle East. Egypt is also feeling the heat, with the government promising to allow opposition candidates during the next elections. Egypt has long been a democracy in name only, with the party in power strictly controlling who could run for office.
