The situation is getting stranger and stranger in North Korea. Today, the North Korean media denied that it had admitted to having an illegal nuclear weapons program, or had threatened to unleash a "Sea of Fire" on South Korea. For some time, it's been feared that there is a power struggle going on in the north. South Koreans who have done a lot of business in the north have noted differences of opinion among northern officials. However, the government is very much like a monarchy, with supreme leader Kim Jong Ils word is law. But Kim is known to change his mind at unexpected moments. Moreover, Kim, as was his father's custom, is surrounded by "Yes Men" who do not provide him with much analysis of what he is up against and what his options are.
