Nigerian peacekeepers guarding the main airport have prevented the government from removing two containers of weapons that just arrived via a Boeing 707. The weapons apparently came from Libya, which has long supported president Charles Johnson. 

A handful of Nigerian peacekeepers entered the capital, touching off celebrations among civilians. 

The parliament approved president Charles Taylor's plan to resign on the 11th and be replaced by the vice president. Keep in mind that, while Taylor was responsible for much of the corruption and theft of national assets, his political followers have all had their hands in the till as well.
