The government of northern Kano state has apologized for the actions of Moslem vigilantes. The "volunteers" were to help the police enforce Sharia law, but have gone beyond that. They destroyed a truck carrying beer to an army garrison and beat up foreign journalists drinking at a press center. In both cases the alcohol was legal.
