Government investigators have interviewed 28 military officers after receiving reports that officers were trying to organize a coup and take over the government. Since 1966, there have been five military takeovers of the government. Most of the officers investigated were Moslem. About half the population is Moslem, most of them in the north of the country. Most of the governments since 1966 have been dominated by Moslems, but the current one is largely run by Christians.
