 Gunmen ambushed a boat in the Niger Delta, killing three navy personnel and two American oil workers. The army and navy have been battling heavily armed tribal gangs in the delta. As a result of the violence, about ten percent of oil production (worth nearly five million dollars a day) has been suspended.
