Six NPA rebels were killed when two rebel units supposed to be meeting under cover of darkness to plan a joint attack mistook each other for government troops and opened fire. The joint attack they were planning was to have been carried out on March 29. In a separate skirmish, two more NPA rebels were killed and five soldiers wounded. - Adam Geibel
