March 27, 2006: On Sulu island, Abu Sayyaf appears to have set off a bomb in a market, leaving nine dead, and twenty wounded.

March 25, 2006: Peace talks with the MILF are now deadlocked over how much power the Moslems would have in the south. The last time Moslems got more autonomy, and money, in the south, there was massive corruption and theft of government funds. The Moslems deny this, but the government does not want to go down this road again, as it just generates yet another Moslem separatist movement.

March 24, 2006: In the last week, battles with NPA rebels in the central Philippines, left four rebels, one policeman and one official dead.

March 22, 2006: NPA rebels are increasingly aggressive outside the capital, attacking police, and businesses that refuse to pay protection money to the communist NPA extortionists. All NPA factions, throughout the country, have become more aggressive now that donations from foreign leftists have dried up. The NPA has to raise money in order to maintain all its fighters.
